Idaho and INL roll out red carpet for new nuclear industry
Advanced nuclear supply chain workshop comes to Idaho Falls
Building on our 70-year legacy of nuclear energy innovation, Idaho National Laboratory, with Regional Economic Development Eastern Idaho (REDI), is gathering community and business professionals from across Idaho, the West and parts of Canada for a special nuclear supplier workshop. The Ready4Nuclear Western U.S. & Canada Nuclear Suppliers Workshop is being held May 15-16 at INL’s Meeting Center.
The nuclear supply chain for an emerging advanced reactor market is a multibillion dollar enterprise. Workshop participants will discuss building a regional supply chain cluster, what nuclear reactor companies need, becoming an approved vendor, and global export markets.
“We have an incredible opportunity to develop and deploy advanced nuclear reactors, and build the regional economy as companies participate in a lucrative global supply chain,” said INL Laboratory Director Mark Peters. “This workshop is an important step in forming the private-public partnerships that will usher in a new era of economic prosperity.”
Workshop sponsors include: REDI, NuScale Power, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, Consulate General of Canada/Seattle, Ontario, Canada-Ministry of International Trade, Atos, Maidana Research, Curtiss-Wright, Idaho Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Nuclear Industry Council.
More information about the workshop can be found at ready4nuclear.org.
