(IDAHO FALLS, Idaho) – The Idaho National Laboratory and its employees are proud to announce a contribution of $575,750 to the United Way and its partner agencies in 2024. This is one of the largest United Way workplace campaigns in the state of Idaho.
“Our relationship with United Way is guided by our commitment to excellence in community engagement,” said Lab Director John Wagner. “Our employees’ unwavering dedication and generosity to this year’s United Way campaign embody the spirit of our community at INL.”
Ron Crone, associate laboratory director for INL’s Materials and Fuels Complex, is the management champion of the lab’s campaign and serves on the board of United Way of Eastern Idaho.
“BEA and its employees work together to play a crucial role in supporting the needs of our community. The exceptional contributions generously given during this year’s United Way campaign will go a long way in helping those in need,” Crone said.

INL’s United Way campaign is distinctive in that it covers a large geographic area, supporting United Way in three service regions in eastern Idaho. This reflects both the size of the INL desert Site, which spans 890 square miles, and over 6,300 employees living across the area.
INL supports three United Way agencies in eastern Idaho, reflecting the region where most employees live, work and play. United Way focuses on uniting our community around complex problems. Their work centers around three focus areas: health, education and financial security.
“We are immensely grateful for this vital investment in our community,” said Christine Wiersema, CEO of United Way of Eastern Idaho. “Thanks to the generous support of the INL and its employees, our local United Way will significantly expand its reach to more individuals and families across eastern Idaho.”
