Expanding and Diversifying Talent through Outreach and Collaboration

Idaho National Laboratory collaborates with university partners, champions military workforce programs, supports state engagements, and participates in regional and local STEM outreach, including educational camps, training, and workshops.

A key player in these outreach and recruitment efforts is the National and Homeland Security IDEAL Workforce Programs team. To enhance engagement with top talent advance national and homeland security research programs, the IDEAL Workforce Programs team engages with R1 institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Minority-Serving Institutions, and inclusion-focused professional societies, conferences, and alumni networks.

INL’s commitment to enhancing research collaboration with universities fosters a dynamic exchange of knowledge and innovation, preparing the next generation of leaders in science and technology.

IDEAL University and Student Relationships

INL’s National and Homeland Security IDEAL team works with students, faculty and universities to provide internships, fellowships, joint appointments, capstone projects, research collaborations, workshops and curriculum resources that contribute to INL’s research.

Idaho STEM Summer Camps

Idaho National Laboratory is hosting STEM Scholars, CyberCore and Clean Energy summer camp programs. These three programs are free, and learning materials are provided. Snacks will be provided and students should bring their own lunch.

Cyber-CHAMP

Cyber Competency Health and Maturity Progression (Cyber-CHAMP) is a workforce assessment and evaluation process. Developed to help organizations and individuals enhance and or begin their cyber workforce development journey.
