Idaho National Laboratory protocol officer recognized as ‘Accomplished Under 40’
IDAHO FALLS — Idaho National Laboratory employee Sara Prentice was recently honored by the Idaho Business Review’s “Accomplished Under 40” program.
Prentice is the lead for Hosting and Protocol at the lab. Her duties include arranging and managing all the details associated with VIP visits, which include foreign dignitaries, congressional delegations, government officials and CEOs of major corporations. She works to ensure INL staff is briefed on the cultural considerations associated with foreign visits, including flag protocol, prepares briefing materials to provide to visitors and ensures that all messaging aligns with the lab’s mission. She is also a member of INL’s Emergency Management Joint Information Center.
A native of New Mexico, Prentice received her bachelor’s in broadcast journalism from Eastern New Mexico University and her master’s in communication studies from Texas Tech University.
“Being a good citizen is important to me,” Prentice said. She has volunteered as a member of the board for the Tautphaus Park Zoological Society and for the United Way campaign. She is an active member of PEO, a philanthropic organization that provides scholarships to women, and is a regular supporter of community fundraisers, such as Eastern Idaho Technical College’s Great Race for Education.
When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Dan, and three-year-old son, Evan.
Each year, the Idaho Business Review accepts nominations for its Accomplished Under 40 program. Honorees are selected based on their accomplishments, leadership and community service.
