(IDAHO FALLS, Idaho) – The Idaho National Laboratory will host the fourth annual Digital Engineering Conference on May 12-13 at the University of Utah, in collaboration with the Utah Office of Energy Development and the University of Utah’s National Lab & Security Office.
Attendees from across the country will explore advances in digital engineering, artificial intelligence, technology-enabled design and more. Keynote speakers and panelists will represent energy and technology industries, alongside national laboratories, government and academia.
“Each year, the stakes rise for driving digital engineering progress, and tackling increasingly complex technical challenges will require purposeful collaboration,” said Scientific Computing and AI Division Director Chris Ritter. “This event continues to be a great opportunity to show what has been done and what we plan to achieve.”
The conference comes as the U.S. Department of Energy expands its focus on digital engineering and AI through the Genesis Mission. This initiative aims to drive energy dominance, accelerate discovery science and strengthen national security. DICE 2026 provides a forum to discuss emerging capabilities and align efforts across sectors.
“The University of Utah is proud to partner with Idaho National Laboratory to host DICE 2026 and bring together leaders across academia, government and industry,” said Jake Jensen, associate vice president for research at the University of Utah. “Advancing digital engineering and AI will require exactly this kind of cross-sector collaboration, and we’re excited to help convene these conversations that will shape the future of energy and technology.”
