INL’s Nationwide Impact
Idaho National Laboratory is steadfast in its commitment to changing the world’s energy future and securing our critical infrastructure. Collaborations with organizations across all 50 states greatly support the lab’s mission.
In fiscal year 2024 (October 2023 to September 2024), INL’s dedicated employees engaged in 400 strategic partnerships, hosted 611 interns from 43 states, maintained 51 joint appointments with universities and colleges nationwide, and worked on 83 Consolidated Innovative Nuclear Research projects. Additionally, our team collectively holds 5,353 degrees from 49 states and the District of Columbia.

Idaho Direct Impact
As a major contributor to Idaho’s economy, INL’s impact on its home state is extensive. From $252.1 million in subcontracts to Idaho organizations to 2,149 degrees earned by INL employees from Idaho colleges and universities, INL’s influence on Idaho and Idaho’s influence on INL is immense. Additionally, INL hosted 180 interns from Idaho, further contributing to the development of local talent.
