INL offering tech-based economic development grants

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — Idaho National Laboratory, on behalf of corporate funding provided by Battelle Energy Alliance, is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations for its 2022 technology-based economic development grants.Part of INL’s mission is to stimulate economic development and support new business growth and entrepreneurship throughout Idaho, and the lab offers grants to area organizations to help achieve these goals.

Proposals should be related to one or more of the below focus areas:

  • Support development of a regional innovation district focused on energy, cybersecurity or advanced manufacturing.
  • Support rural innovation.
  • Support a thriving entrepreneurial and small business ecosystem.

Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit entities. The deadline for grant requests is Friday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m. MST. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be included in the review process.

Grant applications must be submitted online here. If you would like to view or print the application prior to submitting it online, download the 2022 Tech-Based Economic Development Grant form.

Decisions will be made by mid-January 2022 with notifications sent to requesting organizations informing them of funding awards in late January 2022. Funds are for projects for the period of Feb. 1 to Dec. 31, 2022.
